Day 136

Thurs. 5/16/2013

All 4 of my girls are a little obsessed with poor "Baby Lucy."  She, in turn, I think is terrified of them.

Day 135

Wed. 5/15/2013

Kimberlee testing her egg drop parachute.  We couldn't get it high enough to work...we'll see if she passed or not when she gets home from school today.

Right after I snapped this picture I heard fast little footsteps, the back door close, and two locks clicking into place.  Of course all 3 older girls were still outside with me...and of course I did not have my key  This time Kassie thought she was pretty funny until she realized she really couldn't unlock the deadbolt again.  15 minutes of crying (from her) and yelling (from me) and she finally found the strength in her little fingers to unlock the door.  I was hopeful that it was a traumatizing experience for her (because it certainly was for me), but she just saw this picture and said, "Oh yah, I lock the door...that was good."  Heaven help me.

Day 134

Tues. 5/14/2013

I had high hopes of finishing my quilt before Ed came home, but the little elf underneath the table is sure making that difficult.

Day 133

Mon. 5/13/2013

Kassie locked me out of the house.  We had gone outside to play when Kassie suddenly darted back through the door.  As I was jumping up to stop her I heard the lock click, and then the deadbolt.  Of course all other doors into the house were also locked.  I told Kassie to unlock the door and heard her messing with the doorknob, and then she whined, "I can't!"  More yelling from me, more messing with the doorknob, more whining.  Yah, I started to panic.  She said her fingers were slippery and she needed to wash them, and as she walked to the sink I finally got a good look at her face.  The little devil was grinning.  She thought she was hilarious.  I banged on the door and in my sternest voice told her again to unlock the door.  "Fine mom.  Don't freak out."  And now I will be carrying my key with me every single moment.

My one picture from Mother's Day - Kimberlee mothering the precious 2-month-old we had dinner with.

Day 131

Sat. 5/11/2013

We had to say goodbye to Grandma again.  When we got home from the airport the girls found another pet (to add to the lizard they had been watching all week) under our back deck.  That poor turtle ran away as fast as he could, but not before Keira had named him Tootsie.

Day 122

Thurs. 5/2/2013

Preparing for my class for our Relief Society activity.  I was supposed to talk about writing your personal history, and I was thinking about throwing in my own thoughts about family history in general.  In the middle of writing down my thoughts my cousin called to tell me my Grandma Jo had passed away.  I'm so grateful she is a part of my family tree and that she is finally with Grandpa again.
